The Sephirotic Tree and Divine Correspondences in Hebrew Kabbalah
The Sephirotic correspondences are used in similar ways. Such correspondence is indeed used in the realization of mental supports suited to attune individual consciousness to divine energies. For example, in this sense the name Jeshua is inscribed in the 6-pointed star (instead of 5 points as would be dictated by the other correspondence) and used for meditation on the heart center. In general, it can be said that the Sephirotic Tree with its correspondences represents a true and proper unifying cornerstone of all ancient and modern currents that refer to Hebrew kabbalah. Although indeed, the precise terms of the various correspondences have varied over the course of time and in relation to the various authors and currents that have dealt with the subject, nevertheless the sense of correspondences has remained present from the Sefer Yetzirah to the most contemporary traditional kabbalah. Beyond the correspondences previously examined, there are associations between geometric figures and divine names whose meaning is due to a particular conceptual affinity between the two realities that cannot be traced back to either of the two previous schemes. Such is the case, for example, of the Tetragrammaton or 4-letter name inscribed in the triangle or flaming delta. This type of correspondence is of traditional character and cannot be reduced to a single scheme and must be evaluated case by case. The Sephirotic Tree thus becomes a true and proper key of correspondences that allows one to act and operate in conformity with the archetypal order of the Universe, thus helping the ascetic to decide on the timing and methods of their operations, making them all harmoniously tuned to the goal to be obtained.
