Sephirotic Correspondences and Geometric Diagrams in Qabbalistic Tradition

Sephirotic correspondence is used. A similar correspondence is in fact used in the realization of mental supports adapted to tune individual consciousness to divine energies. For example, in this sense the name Jeshua is inscribed in the 6-pointed star (instead of 5-pointed as would be dictated by the other correspondence) and used for meditation on the cardiac center. Generally speaking, it can be said that the Sephirotic Tree with its correspondences represents a true unifying cornerstone of all ancient and modern currents that refer to Hebrew qabbalah. Although in fact, the precise terms of the various correspondences have varied over time and in relation to the various authors and currents that have dealt with the subject, nevertheless the sense of the correspondences has remained present from the Sefer Yetzirah to the most contemporary qabbalah. Traditional: Besides the correspondences previously examined, there are associations between geometric figures and divine names whose meaning is due to a particular conceptual affinity between the two realities that cannot be traced back to either of the two previous schemes. Such is the case, for example, of the Tetragrammaton or 4-letter name inscribed in the triangle or flaming delta. This type of correspondence is of a traditional character and cannot be reduced to a single scheme and must be evaluated case by case. The Tree of Correspondences: One of the central themes of all ancient and modern qabbalistic movements is the theme of the sefirot or divine emanations and the sephirotic tree that appears from the very beginnings of the qabbalistic movement and never abandons it. The doctrine of the sefirot is the doctrine relating to the divine powers or attributes through which the transcendent and unknowable God, the En Sof, reveals itself and structures Creation. Using the words of the great qabbalist Isaac Luria transmitted by his disciple Vital: When the pure will conceived to create the worlds and produce the emanations [...] then the En Sof concentrated itself in the middle point, placed at the exact center of its light. The light concentrated and withdrew all around that central point; right from the middle point there remained then a free space, empty, vacuum and hollow in this way: ⊙. [...] After this concentration, following which there remained that free, empty, vacuum and hollow place right in the middle of the light of the En Sof, there was a space where the emanations, creatures, forms and realizations could exist. Meditation and Centers of Force: An example of practical application of the previous correspondences and which directly involves geometric figures can be found in the iconography used as support for meditation on the centers of force or nodes of the soul. The doctrine of the centers of force is a typical element of many Eastern doctrines and philosophies for which the soul has in itself some epicenters of consciousness which, once awakened and developed, become true spiritual sensory organs, but which at the moment carry an atavistic predisposition to vices and capital errors.
