Solid geological evidence, based largely on analysis of deep cores from coral reefs, exists only for three major periods of accelerated sea level rise, called Meltwater Pulses, during the last deglaciation. The first, Meltwater pulse 1A, would have caused a rise of $13.5$ m between $12,600$-$12,300$ BC. The second Meltwater pulse 1B led to a further increase of $7.5$ m between $9,400$ and $9,200$ BC, and finally Meltwater pulse 1C to a further increase of $6.5$ m between $6,200$ and $5,600$ BC. Such rapid rates of sea level rise during meltwater events clearly imply large ice loss events linked to ice sheet collapse. Benassai, A. 2021. Egypt before the sands. Pistoia: Archeosoca. France and Norway were covered by waters leaving a single island of comparable size to Denmark, then even this last island was submerged a few millennia later. Ocean currents changed, cooling the climate for more than about $2000$ years. Another powerful water impulse, capable of bringing a marine level increase of another $7$ meters occurred at the threshold of the Cancer era, which actually began in $9233$ BC (Fig. 9). Throughout the Cancer era the sea level continued to rise, growing progressively and leading to the formation of the Adriatic Sea, which once constituted a lush valley that united Italy to Croatia and which led to the separation of Sicily from Italy. Simultaneously with the submersion and flooding of Northern Europe, with the beginning of the Cancer era, in Africa the Sahara began to become green entering its humid period, lasting until the first dynasties of pharaonic Egypt. The now desert places of Mali, Niger, Sudan for thousands of years hosted tropical forests, green landscapes and regions similar to the current savanna with hippos, crocodiles and elephants. Long rivers (Fig. 10) ran through Libya until reaching the Mega-lake of Chad and it was possible to navigate from the Mediterranean to the Gulf of Guinea. Tunisia was a peninsula and vegetation extended to Arabia which, since the Pleistocene, has been periodically covered with vegetation, rivers and lakes. With the Cancer era comes an impulse to sedentarism, to the domestic hearth, which leads to demographic increase and the consequent need to resort to agriculture. The cult of the dead resumes, who are buried at home, to protect the family nucleus, in a contracted position as a symbol of new birth in the afterlife world. According to tradition, the cult in this period was predominantly of a mediumistic and shamanic type, but had soon taken a demonic drift for which the use of human sacrifices had spread.
