Preface and Warning

If, in past times, man's primary problem consisted in managing to find the Path of spiritual realization; today's man no longer has this need. The problem of contemporary man is no longer finding the Way, his problem is only realizing it, that is, putting it into practice and succeeding, before dying, in obtaining spiritual transmutation in life.

For the writer, the Way is Archeosophy and therefore it is within the theoretical and practical archeosophical framework and, more generally, of integral contemporary Christianity that this writing finds its terminology and doctrinal foundation. This is not meant to proselytize, but only to warn that many of the discussions and reflections developed in these pages presuppose a knowledge, at least elementary, of the classics of archeosophical thought and of modern and contemporary Christian thought.

In the absence of this knowledge, some reflections may appear unjustified or arbitrary, exactly as in the absence of superior mathematical and physical training, reading a specialized article may appear arbitrary, when in fact it is not.

Evolution and Cosmic Cycles

To physical observation, the Universe appears as an immense organic mechanism of almost incomprehensible dimensions, perfectly designed and structured, capable of hosting myriads and myriads of evolutionary systems. One of these systems is our Solar System within which the Earth is found and which, in this period of its history, hosts the Humanity of which we are part. Humanity also has its own evolution, formed by phases of development and adaptation, marked by the succession of epochs, by the rise and fall of great known and unknown civilizations, by the affirmation and dissolution of religions and peoples.

From an evolutionary point of view, time is not a disorganized mass of interchangeable instants, but is an entity that acts through a coherently structured ensemble in a periodic or circular form called a cycle. Each cycle has its beginning, its end and means of development and it is not possible to understand the characteristics of a historical moment without understanding the essential characteristics of the entire cycle of which it is part.
