Ascetic Astrology Fundamentals: Wisdom and Stellar Meditation Principles

wisdom and mercy replaces that of errors in judgment and hardness of heart of the evil star." "And God said to Daniel in the vision: - Do not breathe like mortal men, but as befits the prophets more -. And he said to me: - O Daniel, beloved man, pray and breathe the prayer and breathing of Jupiter conjunct the waxing Moon in Sagittarius -." Quad 21 Some important aspects are noted: • The propitious moment: There is an activation of the star and planet, a particular astronomical phenomenon. It is not that this type of practice could always be done. For example, here we speak of Jupiter conjunct the Moon in Sagittarius. Generally, meditation on a star is done when Jupiter or another planet transits that activates the star or better facilitates and amplifies its action. The ideal is Jupiter because it is the benefic planet par excellence, so generally they performed these operations when there was Jupiter conjunct Spica or Fomalhaut or Sirius. • The action of the Angel of Wisdom on the human soul: the purpose here was to replace errors of judgment with virtues. This "replaces" is important because we will see in subsequent lessons that at the base of ascetic astrology there is precisely this overturning or substitution of vices that hold the human soul prisoner with virtues. In practice, this theme will be taken up later and is extensively treated in this notebook. The classical point, as we have seen in meetings, is that the individual has inclinations dictated by their horoscope, but can transmute these inclinations in one way by resorting to this type of asceticism so that the Angel of Wisdom corresponding to that particular planet replaces the inclination to vice with that to virtue. "And God said to Daniel in the vision: - Do not breathe like mortal men, but as befits the prophets more -. And he said to me: - O Daniel, beloved man, pray and breathe the prayer and breathing of Jupiter conjunct the waxing Moon in Sagittarius -." • The technique: as we said, an important element is fixity in observing the star with the intention of reaching the corresponding entity, but a fundamental element is breathing. Breathing is important because it helps to discipline attention and enter different states of consciousness. In this perspective, therefore, the keys as you see for this prayer and meditation on the stars are then fundamental: fixity in attention directed toward the star with the intention of reaching the corresponding entity. All these reflections lead Tommaso Palamidessi to deepen the subject and give life precisely to what will become Ascetic Astrology. IX Ascetic Astrology Here we finally arrive at the first congress of the Italian Center for Astrological Disciplines, which is this astrological center founded by Federico Capone, "the disciple more dedicated to dance halls than to listening to wisdom," and in which Tommaso Palamidessi is clearly invited who, after about forty years of studies and research in Italy and abroad, finally presents in this inaugural conference of C.I.D.A. the results of his research regarding Ascetic Astrology. What is Ascetic Astrology The definition of Ascetic Astrology is given explicitly in this writing which is practically the accompaniment or support of the intervention held at that conference. "Ascetic Astrology refers to the ethical and psychodynamic development of the individual, to whom it offers the possibility of an ascent of spiritual values, that is, the overcoming of oneself with a qualitative awareness, so as to awaken in him those potentialities that characterize the genius, the illuminated or the prophet, reborn and integrated in his almost divine powers." Quad 21. The Fundamental Principles Let us try to understand what we are talking about. Essentially, Ascetic Astrology is based on four fundamental assumptions that are at the base of all the philosophical systems we have seen previously and that have used astrology as a means of spiritual elevation. 1. PRINCIPLE OF ANALOGY: "The microcosm is analogous to the macrocosm in the three planes of unitrinity; as it is above so it is below, as it is below so it is above." This is one of the hermetic axioms we saw a few lessons ago. It essentially expresses the fundamental concept for which everything that exists, everything we see is nothing other than the physical and material exteriorization of a force of spiritual character. The same forces that form planets at the macrocosmic level are qualitatively the same that form Man. Analogical identity between the soul of Man and the Universe, or the spiritual forces that form the Universe are the same that at the individual level form man. This means that Man and Universe are equal not from a quantitative point of view obviously, but from a qualitative point of view yes. 2. ANTHROPOCOSMIC RESONANCE: This analogy between Man and Universe is expressed with an analogical identity between planets and the qualities of Man or ethical centers of the Human soul. Since the spiritual forces of the Universe are the same present in Man, the virtues or forces corresponding to the various planets are the same virtues or forces present in the individual. It is therefore possible to "make oneself receptive" to cosmic influences "by virtue of Anthropocosmic Resonance" and therefore "walk with God." 3. LAW OF ALCHEMICAL TRANSMUTATION: "The mind, as well as metals and human and telluric elements, can be transmuted from state to state, from degree to degree, from condition to condition, from pole to pole, from vibration to vibration." Possibility of evolution of the Individual and of the Individual Soul formed of vices and virtues that can be transformed one into the other. 4. FREE WILL: Hierarchical Superiority of the human Spirit truly made in the image and likeness of God and which therefore results hierarchically superior with respect to planetary influences that authorizes to think possible an individual transmutation. The key to operating this free will is meditation. How It Is Used There are essentially two ways, that is through concentration, says Tommaso Palamidessi, on the planets of the Microcosm and on the planets of the Macrocosm.
