The determination of these cardinal stars is very ancient and dates back to the Chaldeans, particularly to the Sumerian epoch. Indeed, although no direct testimony of Sumerian astronomy has reached us, many Babylonian texts report catalogs and constellations of Sumerian etymology that probably have a much older age than that declared. Among these:

  • • The constellation of Taurus from GU4.AN.NA "The Guardian of Heaven", which determined the vernal equinox
  • • The Lion from UR.GU.LA "Lion", which determines the solstice
  • • The Scorpion from GIR.TAB "The Scorpion", marking the autumnal equinox
  • • Capricorn, from SUHUR.MAS "The Fish-Goat", which marks the winter solstice. And which is a mythological hybrid represented on stones before $2000$ BC as a symbol of Ea.

The Prophet Daniel

The planetary bodies influence the body, but the angelic entity that corresponds to it influences individuality. Therefore, this type of ancient astrology aimed to establish a spiritual telepathic contact with the corresponding Light entity. The method by which they performed this operation was through concentration, and prolonged fixed attention on a point, that is, the star. They would generally place themselves on a height and observe the star, "con-sider" according to precise planetary dispositions.

In the Sefer ha khokabim, for example, this type of transmutation operation is discussed: "And God made it known to Daniel to pray when Jupiter is conjunct with the waxing Moon in Sagittarius, free from planetary offenses, so that the angel of wisdom and mercy may substitute that of errors of judgment and hardness of heart of the evil star".

This passage contains some important elements to highlight:

  • The propitious moment: There is an activation of the star and planet, a particular astronomical phenomenon. This type of practice could not always be done. For example, here we speak of Jupiter conjunct the Moon in Sagittarius. Generally, meditation on a star is done when Jupiter or another planet transits that activates the star or better facilitates and amplifies its action. Jupiter is ideal because it is the benefic planet par excellence, so they generally performed these operations when there was Jupiter conjunct Spica or Sodamelik or Fomalhaut or Sirius.
  • The action of the Angel of Wisdom on the human soul: the purpose here was to substitute errors of judgment with virtues. This "substitution" is important because we will see in subsequent lessons that at the base of ascetic astrology there is precisely this overturning or substitution of vices that imprison the human soul with virtues.

"And God said to Daniel in the vision: - Do not breathe like mortal men, but as is more fitting for prophets -. And he said to me: - O Daniel, favored man, pray and breathe the prayer and breathing of Jupiter conjunct the waxing Moon in Sagittarius -."

  • The technique: as we said, an important element is fixity in observing the star with the intention of reaching the corresponding entity, but a fundamental element is breathing. Breathing is important because it helps discipline attention and enter different states of consciousness.

Problem in the dating of Dendera: the sky represented as Joseph Fourier indicated is from $2500$ BC, but the inscriptions of the pharaohs date it to the Ptolemaic period. The realization currently seems to be situated around $50$ AD. So: is it a copy of a previous zodiac? We know
