Tarot Arcana Interpretation: The Tower, Stars, Moon, Sun and Judgment
Another is a priestly figure. They refer to the hierarchy of ancient Egypt and we see here that they precipitate into the Ground. This arcanum is a clear reference to a biblical episode of the Tower of Babel that falls, and here the Tower represents this fall, the collapse of false doctrines. Not only false doctrines, but also pride, ambition, fundamentally it precipitates the kings who crowned themselves. The temple that the Initiate built must be destroyed, this is because it was built by a man, although with the best possible characteristics, but it is always human, therefore it always has the inferior aspect. Here the lightning represents the divine will. Therefore it destroys this temple to rebuild it but in a divine form, so it is a bad but necessary phase. Without the false doctrines, he achieves the Stars. We have here now the Blade of the Stars. As we saw in the arcanum of Temperance, here too we see two cups: a golden cup and a silver cup. Water flows from them, but here the gestures are different because in the arcanum of Temperance, the liquid was transferred from one cup to another, here the figure of the woman pours the liquid from the cups directly into the sea. The sea that is symbolizing the sea of cosmic waters. Above the sea, there is a sky that is sprinkled with Stars, having in the center an eight-pointed star. The Stars symbolize the life that is beyond this World, rebirth in a divine and spiritual World. Therefore the woman here, let's see, the woman is naked, representing truth. As in the card also of Temperance, we see a flower, I had not made reference, but if we look at that flower it is withered, here we have a flower but this one is already bloomed, a butterfly that also flies over this flower, which is to symbolize this transmutation because the butterfly represents a metamorphosis. We now have the blade of the Moon. In the Moon we see here two dogs represented. These two dogs stand for the Solstices. We also have two Towers and we have the sign of the crab, therefore here is represented a sublunar World that is crossed by the Initiate and the incidence, the ambush, the danger, that is, everything that is not expected, an environment little known because if we think, the rays of the Moon are a reflected light of the Sun but they are not the true Light. The Initiate here manages to see the path of initiation, through this road. Therefore here it is represented by this road that passes through those two dogs, a white dog and a black dog, the road of initiation that is beyond good and evil. Then we have the arcanum that represents the Sun. The Sun with all its rays that project divine life. If the arcanum of the Moon indicated a reflected light, that is, a sky, fundamentally, a little lower, here in the arcanum of the Sun indicates a higher sky. We have there represented two twins who shake hands in front of a fortified wall because it symbolizes fraternity and human initiation. These two men who shake hands establish an alliance between men and God who is here represented by a Sun and whose rays descend upon them. The wall here also represents a construction of the kingdom of God. There is a construction of the kingdom of God which is also the objective of this alliance. And here we have the Judgment, the judgment. Therefore the Judgment here is in relation to the universal judgment, that final implacable one. Therefore there is here also a connection with the successive blade, with everything that is in the Apocalypse. This blade is also known as the resurrection of the dead. It is a unique blade and is dominated by a blue color with many tonalities where three figures are seen that are clothed by a sarcophagus and here are represented Isis, Osiris and Horus who symbolize resurrection. These three figures are traditionally also defined as reborn, that is, those who come out of the tombs but who are well awakened. There is an awakening here of consciousness, a superior condition in a more favorable environment. The angel, which we have here above, is the divine presence, which through a trumpet awakens the key of Isis, that is, awakens the key of life, awakens the Forces of life of one who is dead who is called to resurrection. In this blade we have then the judgment, the trinity and rebirth. The Force that is awakened by the angel who plays the trumpet is in fact the Force of resurrection which is symbolized by the key of Isis or of life, which is directed upward and which is found above the sarcophagus of the child, also to indicate eternal life, because it is the conclusion of a cycle and the beginning of another. And we arrive at what is the last Blade that also already...
