1. INTRODUCTION
Today we want to speak about the Heart Center and also about mystical ascesis and also about Cardiognosis, that is, the metaphysical knowledge of the heart which is an experience associated with this type of meditation. It must be said that this topic, this knowledge of the heart, of heart prayer, is the central and Gordian point of all mystical traditions that believe in a personal God. The importance of the heart and the heart center is found in the Egyptian, Hebrew, Islamic, Indian traditions, etc. It is so important because if treated in a certain way, this center constitutes itself as a theophanic place, that is, the true temple in which one can pray in the correct way and have an experience of mystical states.
2. HEART CENTER
The heart center is perhaps the most important center of all, and correct work on the heart center can entirely change the individual. Even the work we do on the frontal center is functional to the work to be done for the heart center. This is because the heart center is the center of gravity of the soul, and therefore work on this center entails a possibility for the soul to manifest itself in a different way, an awakening of the soul that means a different way of feeling, a different way of perceiving, new feelings and virtues that it is possible to experience, and a new knowledge that it is possible to understand.
Studying what the soul corresponds to, we notice that it: Is rational, presides over feeling, imagination, morality, memory, and passion. The emotional soul is the center of gravity of the emotional sphere of consciousness. The emotional soul is perceived in the heart and in the blood. It is rational: therefore a new way of understanding feeling: new way of feeling morality: therefore vices and virtues and therefore also a change in the functioning of all centers. One could say that while the frontal center is responsible for the luminous intensity of the aura, the heart center is responsible for the quality of colors. center of gravity of consciousness. By changing feelings as well as investing the totality of consciousness, a correct meditation on the heart leads to an integral purification of the individual, regenerating him as a whole. This will then also invest by law of resonance the circumstances and the external physical environment. Therefore it is the most important center to purify and discipline; in some way all the work of knowledge and interior purification depends on this.
3. INSTRUMENT OF KNOWLEDGE
We have said that the correct activity of this center radically changes the interior life of the individual. One of the most important elements is the fact that this center structures itself as a new means of knowledge and allows you in some way to understand things in a different way. Let us try to understand the differences between an understanding associated with the heart center and one associated with the frontal center:
Two distinct ways of understanding the same reality.
FRONTAL CENTER - HEART CENTER
SPIRIT - SOUL
INTELLIGENCE AS REASON - INTELLIGENCE AS UNDERSTANDING
INTUITION OF MEANING - PARTICIPATION IN LIFE
WILL - INTELLIGENCE
VOLITIVE OPERATIONS - INTELLECTIVE OPERATIONS
SENSE OF THE TRUE - SENSE OF THE SACRED
This distinction in understanding is true for every reality and symbol but in particular is also true for knowledge of oneself.
4. CARDIOGNOSIS
CEPHALOGNOSIS: knowledge of the brain that leads to knowledge of oneself as spirit, as center of immortal will, as I am
CARDIOGNOSIS: knowledge of the heart that leads to knowledge of the depths of the soul.
Cardiognosis means knowledge of the metaphysical heart and since this is also the center of gravity of the soul, it also leads to a deeper knowledge of oneself and one's soul constitution. The process to proceed in this knowledge essentially consists in transferring with certain techniques the sense of the Self from the brain to the heart. Our sense of Self is generally concentrated in the brain; this means that we feel ourselves in the brain and when we think of our consciousness, if we were to localize it, we would localize it in the brain. Conversely, to proceed in this knowledge it is necessary to descend with the mind into the heart.
Examples: Imagining a radiant Sun in the heart various phases: difficulty in the descent of consciousness because of throat center and dream heat in the chest region change of perception of things understanding of the meaning of scriptures, increase of faith sense of peace sense of eternity sense of regeneration and soul life: one feels alive unlike before perception of a light that is called interior light. This light is not that it is a physical light but an interior state translatable conceptually as light and of which Tommaso Palamidessi gives a detailed description in this notebook: "After these discourses allow us not to define for you for now what the 'Interior Light' is, you will know it with experience: a particular experience, because you will not do it outside your body, but in the blood that flows in your heart as a physiological and metaphysiological experience. The blood passing and repassing through the capillaries of the lungs becomes oxygenated, becomes red, vigorous..."
