Sacred Geometry: Pythagorean Triangle and Five-Pointed Star
a moral symbolism because the right angle indicates precisely the spiritual Rectitude with which Man works himself and his own stone for the construction of the Temple of God. In ancient masonry this was the symbol of theurgic authority. But the values of the sacred triangle are not exhausted in relation to the individual. Some cosmological values The three numbers indicated by Pythagoras' triangle, namely $3$, $4$ and $5$ have a profound cosmological significance. In the Pythagorean creation expressed in Plato's Timaeus, all essences of the cosmos were symbolized by special solids, today called Platonic, which represented the life of the elements. Without going into too much detail, these solids derived geometrically precisely from the Triangle, the Square and the Pentagon, that is, from the numbers of Pythagoras' triangle. Therefore from a geometric-symbolic and cosmological point of view these $3$ numbers generate the fundamental forms of solid geometry from which all others are then derived. Similarly this relationship is the same relationship as the frequencies of the three primary colors BLUE-GREEN AND RED. All other colors, we know, are derivable from these. In the language of the prophets God emanates three spheres that fill the three heavens: the first sphere is red and is considered the sphere of Love; the second sphere is blue and is the sphere of Wisdom; the third sphere is green and is the sphere of Creation. Similarly this relationship is that which links the $3$ fundamental notes of the Sacred Chord DO-FA-LA. All other musical notes can be obtained from the harmonics of these notes, only these $3$ notes cannot be obtained from each other. Choice of a precise sacred triangle Not only do these relationships have a profound cosmological value, but this value can be further specified to obtain perfect harmony between heaven and earth by also choosing a unit of Measurement that is coherent. For example we can choose a base for the icon of $36$cm which leads to a height of $48$cm to a hypotenuse of $60$cm and thus to a total sum of $144$cm. Whose sum makes $144$ which refers precisely to the Apocalypse and the Celestial Jerusalem. The perfect stone that has $144$ faces and which means in Hebrew, if read gematrically, the word Emeth or Truth. FIVE-POINTED STAR With this we have ensured that we have an icon whose dimensions are in harmony with the spiritual and divine reality with which we want to enter into communication. At this point geometric forms come into play as the fundamental structure on which to build the icon. Regarding this, the things to talk about could be many, but among all one is certainly the fundamental symbolic artistic element to keep in consideration. The icon generally represents man because it serves man. It is important that there is a human figure in the icon because when one sees a human figure they automatically identify with it, something that does not happen spontaneously for an object or an animal. The symbol of Man, of the Spirit of Man, of Cosmic Man and of Light is the $5$-pointed Star. For this reason it is used by many authors.
